Dynamics of Business

Business Dynamics helps to prepare students to make decisions in their future roles as consumers, wage earners & citizens.  Students examine economic principles & explore how these apply to their lives.  Projects utilize computer applications in word, PowerPoint, & Excel to study forms of business ownership, business organizations, banking, money management, consumer awareness, stock market investments, entrepreneurship, insurance, & business career exploration. Full-year course.

 

Sports & Entertainment Marketing

This specialized course is geared to students with a career interest in the sports and/or entertainment industry.  The curriculum will involve marketing theory and practices of those industries, including areas such as apparel licensing, broadcast negotiations and programming, advertising and sponsorship agreements, public relations, event/stadium/arena management, and labor relations. Semester course. Offered each semester.

RADIO_Broadcasting

Radio Broadcasting is an exploratory course that covers various aspects of radio and television; effects of the broadcast media, the development of broadcasting, and the operation of broadcasting and the operation of broadcasting equipment. This course will also deal with the duties of radio and television personnel. Each student will create various types of radio and television program, including music programs, interview shows, news programs, radio and television commercials and dramatic productions. Offered in spring this year.
 

Cinema & Film

This semester course traces the development of motion pictures as an art form from the 1890’s to 1941.  Representative selections from the various genres are screened, then discussed in terms of art, technique, content and historical perspective, as well as directorial style.   Successful completion of this course with a B or better grade will earn college credits at Mercer County Community College or a four-year university to be announced. This semester course is offered in fall this year.
